Digital Photo T-Shirt Printing

If you want to put a digital photo on a shirt, there are different ways to achieve this goal. This is far from difficult, even a child could probably manage to do this. In fact, because it requires some computer knowledge, a child can probably do a better job.

You need an ink jet printer and iron on transfers. These transfers can be purchased in the office supply store. You also need an iron. Or a press. A heat press is better because it distributes the heat evenly on the transfer, but is not very economical if you are only printing one shirt.

Make sure that the paper that you purchase is compatible with the printer. There are different types of printers, such as laser printers and ink jet printers. There are also different kinds of iron on transfer papers. You want to make sure that you get the right paper for the right printer.

You can download a photo from the internet or you can scan a photo into your computer. There are a variety of different ways that you can get a digital photo. If you have a digital camera, you can take a photo and then just upload it onto your computer. All photos that are on your computer are digital.

Many people like to transfer digital photos of children or pets onto T-shirts. These can make a nice gift for grandparents or aunts and uncles. They can also make a nice gift for a pet owner. You can also add text. Use your word processing program to display the photo with the text.

The next step is to set your printer correctly. You will need to have everything flipped. Because the transfer will be printed on one side and ironed on, the design must be essentially backwards in order for this to work, especially if you have text. There should be a setting for your printer that will set your printer to iron transfer and flip the image. You should also make sure that you program the printer to accept the transfer paper for thickness and ink saturation. You will want the best quality photo available so make sure you press high quality photograph for your printer options.

Once the item is printed, allow it to dry for a few seconds. You can then place it over the T-shirt and use an iron, set on a dry setting, to iron over the transfer. Follow the directions that are given in the transfer paper package as each paper is different. After the transfer is complete, allow it to cool just a bit before removing the backing.

This can allow you to add a digital photo and text right onto a T-shirt and the cost is minimal. If you have a printer, it will only cost you for the paper which is about $10 for 12 sheets.
