Start A T-Shirt Printing Business

One business that you can start on a shoestring budget is a custom T-shirt business. There are many different possibilities to this business and many ways to market the product. The sky can be the limit when it comes to the custom T-Shirt business which has been booming for many years and shows no signs of slowing down.

You can easily purchase T-shirts online in bulk quantity. If you are going to go in business, you will want to purchase supplies in bulk so that you can save money. You will also want to purchase high quality T-Shirts so that they do not fade or are not see thru. No matter how clever your design, people will not be drawn to a cheaply made T-shirt . The T-shirts that come in a package of three are not a good option when it comes to making custom T-shirts. Look online and buy these items in bulk.

There are many different ways to make custom T-shirts. They can be made on an embroidery machine or they can be silkscreened. The most common way to make custom T-shirts is with iron on decals. These decals can be made easily enough if you own a home computer and a printer. You need only purchase the decal paper which, again, can be purchased online for a lot less money than in the office supply store.

You will also have to make sure you have plenty of ink in your printer. Purchase the ink online. Make sure that you purchase a small quantity of the products first before you purchase a large bulk to make sure that the products are of good quality. You do not want to purchase 1,000 T-shirts only to find that they are of poor quality.

Once you have the supplies you need, you can then start printing T-Shirts. You can use graphics, photos, text or just about anything that you can upload into your computer. You can grab photographs online and use them on T-Shirts. If you are selling your T-Shirts at craft fairs or on a small scale on Ebay, you can get away with using photographs that might be under copyright. However, if you plan on a large scale business, beware of copyright infringement. Any photo that you use may be under copyright. The best way to be assured of using images that are not under copyright is using those that are in the public domain. This information can be found in the Copyright office.

If you come up with a catchy slogan for a T-shirt and are worried someone else will steal it, you can copyright the slogan by making it a registered trademark

Once you get started printing your T-shirts and coming up with catchy and original ideas, you can then market them in a variety of ways, including in stores, on the internet and at craft shows.
